Now serving both Southern and parts of Northern Nevada, and Weber County, Utah
EMPOWERED works with mothers who use or have used opioids or stimulants, and their households, in managing their health, and partnering in their care, from recovery, through stabilization to resilience.
These services allow for facilitation of community resource referrals, care coordination, and care management between community outreach teams, social and community-based organizations, and healthcare providers to mothers, and their households.
Educational and counseling services encompass Medication-Assisted Treatment -- the use of medications, in combination with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders.
In the EMPOWERED program, the peer recovery support specialist provides peer mentorship, personal encouragement, promotes self-advocacy and is entrusted to connect program participants with community-based resources that will help them on their path to recovery.
In Weber County, Utah, EMPOWERED collaborates with Intermountain Health’s PATH (Peripartum Addiction Treatment and Healing) team to ensure optimal medical care.
